The ultra violet clarifier (UVC) continues to form a key element of a Clearwater system. The algae, causing
greenwater, are made to clump together (flocculate) by the UV light so that they can be sieved out of the water by the filter.
The Hozelock Vorton UVC has a unique design which turbulates the water, enabling increased efficiency by a more even exposure of the water to the UV light, and also elimates the possibility of airlocks.
The single-ended UV lamp emits 30% more UV light than a double-ended light of the same wattage. The efficient life of the lamp is up to 60% longer.
Translucent hosetails which glow in operation eliminate the need to dismantle the unit to check if it is working.
Other special features on the Hozelock Vorton UVC include 360° rotational inlet and outlet to make routing of the hose to and from the unit easier, and a dome-ended quartz tube for quick and simple cleaning (only having one end to open).
