| No.1 If you intend to have your pond designed and built by your local builder using equipment supplied Aquatix-2u, check with us first - you need to be certain the products they recommend are going to do the job properly. If they don't know their vortex from their nitrogen cycle, then try someone else.
No.2 If on the other hand you feel confident in building the pond yourself, read as much as you can about your subject. Our Expert Advice section is an excellent place to find information on pond pumps, pond filters, pond liners and more, and we also offer a wide range of books.
No.3 This may sound simple, but if you apply it, it will save you time and money on unnecessary mistakes. We strongly recommend that you only place an order with Aquatix-2u when you have applied the following:
PDC (and in the case of families with small children PDCS).

PLANNING, DESIGN, COST (SAFETY)
If all these criteria haven't been well thought out and one or more don't fit the remit - rip it up and start again.
Examples:
P - Check the siting of the pond. It's no good siting it under your favourite tree. If the roots don't damage the pond, then the falling leaves will surely pollute it.
D - Don't go for an ambitious shape, they create too many dead spots and with a liner too many creases.
C - Work within your budget. Significant overruns scale the project down. If you don't you'll have an expensive bog garden or children's play pit, we've seen it happen!
S - Always look for the problems of young children exploring around ponds and falling in! If in doubt, add netting - it's far better to be safe than sorry.
