The Cloverleaf Bio Bed Pond Filter has been designed to biologically consume the liquid waste products generated by the fish in your pond. Some 80% of waste material produced by your fish is liquid and cannot be removed or neutralised using mechanical methods.

Many pond filters are under-sized and over worked due to the size and/or quantity of the fish and their ongoing growth. The Bio Bed "Biomass" filter media is constantly moving, so the entire surface area becomes colonised with essential de-nitrifying bacteria.
The Cloverleaf Bio Bed is an economic and ultra efficient way to re-balance your pond. Three kilos of Biomass can house sufficient bacteria to cope with the liquid waste of 50 kilos of fish!!! Or to put it another way: THERE ARE MORE BACTERIA WORKING FOR YOUR POND IN THREE KILOS OF BIOMASS THAN 50 SACKS OF YOUR AVERAGE FILTER ROCK, GRAVEL OR STONE MEDIAS!! This filter does not remove the solid waste and as such it should only be used in conjunction with a mechanical filter (vortex & brushes or after the water has been through at least a standard filter box, etc).

It can only be used on a mature pond (over 3 months old) and will usually become active within a few days. Minimum turnover is 10% of pond volume per hour. There is no maximum flow rate providing the Biomass is not pushed beyond the see-through section.

There are 3 sizes and 2 types (Gravity return, Pressure return) to meet your requirements.
